How to insert CTAs and sponsors into a podcast automatically
A CTA is a call to action, like "subscribe", and a sponsor is a paid message. Both work better when they land at a good moment: when someone finishes an idea, not mid sentence. Finding that moment by hand and shifting the rest of the episode takes time. Chismozo does it for you.
What you need
- A finished sequence for each CTA or sponsor, for example "Subscribe".
- Those sequences in the same Premiere Pro project as your episode.
Step by step
- In the "CTA and Sponsors" section press Add.
- Choose the CTA sequence.
- Type the approximate minute where you want it, for example 3:00.
- Chismozo looks for the best moment near that minute: when the host finishes talking or in a long pause. You will see something like "Goes in at 2:58, in a 2.1 s silence".
- If you want another point, use the arrows to see the previous or next moment.
- Add every CTA or sponsor you need, each with its own minute.
- Cut the sequence. Chismozo inserts each CTA and shifts the rest of the episode, like a Premiere Insert.
How it picks the moment
Chismozo guesses the host as the person who talks least, and you can change it with the star next to each camera. Only a stretch where nobody is really talking counts as a pause, so two people talking over each other is not treated as silence.
In DaVinci Resolve
In Resolve, the CTA is left as a marker on the timeline, at the moment it would have been inserted. It requires Resolve Studio.
Frequently asked questions
Can I add several sponsors?
Yes. Add one for each minute where you want a CTA or a sponsor.
Will it cut a sentence in half?
No. The moment is chosen after the host finishes talking or in a pause, and you can review it with the arrows before cutting.
